Q&A with Christy Di Leo, Long Beach Realtor!

An interview with Christy Di Leo, a realtor in Long Beach. When you are looking for a compatible agent, Christy is incredible at making the experience personable and efficient! Check out her business website at https://christyandellen.com!

What sort of purpose do you feel in your job and/or why do you believe your line of work is important and meaningful?

I contribute to one of the most important decision a person or family will every make. It is honestly the most wonderful and satisfying of any of my past careers!

What is the most exciting part of your day-to-day work?

With my Buyers - From our first meeting and identifying the exact property criteria and all the personal wants/needs, then searching every nook and cranny which includes working with my colleagues for “off market homes for as long as it takes, to that look in my client’s eyes when we find their perfect fit!!! Then using all my years of experience and skills as an expert negotiator to get our offer accepted! There is nothing like that feeling when you tell your clients “WE GOT THE HOUSE!!!”

With my Sellers – working on the exact marketing plan so we target the right Buyers that will be a match for their home! Staging, writing ad copy, collaborating with my fellow realtors, presenting the home at our sales meetings and broker tours, open houses, social media, I LOVE IT ALL! And, when the perfect Buyer/offer appears, its wonderful!!!

What do you think the future of your industry looks like, let's say in 15 years? What impact will it be making? How will it be different from what you do now?

Our industry will change with the interest rates and inventory, and the professional Realtors who dedicate themselves to our profession will always be busy and working. I hope the criteria will become stricter so we can eliminate people that are only in it for the one or 2 deals/year and not have the passion or drive they should have in representing Buyers and Sellers

When did you decide you wanted to enter this field? What steps did you take to make that decision a reality?

I had been thinking about a career change for a few years, really wanting to stop traveling and spend more time with my children. Real Estate was a perfect fit for me, using my skills, education, and knowledge of 30+ years in a Sales Manage capacity adding in my love of homes, properties, decorating, landscaping, building…. add in the amazing people I got to work with, it was a great and rewarding decision! Taking my classes and passing my boards on the first try was easy for me since many of the topics I had studied in college.

For any students, age 12-18 who thinks your job sounds interesting, what advice would you give them to help them learn/train/explore your field?

Find someone to “shadow in the summer” and really get a good understanding of what a realtor does, the challenges of being in business for yourself, the successes, and failures, and what it takes. From there, plan courses that will contribute to your knowledge and help you grow into the business

Are there any organizations, communities, or movements that create cooperation between you and others in your field, here in the city of Long Beach?

So many – neighborhood community organizations, local Realtor networking meetings, your Brokerage, Women’s council of Realtors, Professional organizations, state, and national organizations….

What make Long Beach a great place to live and work as it relates to your industry?

Our love of this great city of Long Beach! Mayor Garcia and his staff, the police and community services, Our hospitals and Medical Professional and care facilities, our libraries, the fine arts and music programs, museums, THE PARKS, the diversity, charitable community organizations, downtown, cool and interesting neighborhoods, restaurants, most important it’s people!
