With summer now in full effect, people tend to gravitate toward almost anything that will alleviate them from the heat and quench their thirst. Miss Priss Cupcakes & Such, in response to the weather, will be shining a spotlight on there citrus flavored cupcakes that are moist, tender, and have the perfect balance between sweetness and tanginess.
Citrus flavors such as orange, lemon, and key lime cupcakes are increasingly growing popular as the thermostat spikes.
Although, cupcakes aren't the only dessert items that Miss Priss specializes in. Strawberry and pineapple pies containing fresh fruits that are enveloped into a tender pie crust that is either crimped, or latticed, are becoming a dog day hit for locals.
“Typically fruits that are in season, that we decide to make into a desserts are popular during the summertime,” owner Madison Kearney said. “The citrus desserts seem to do better because they are more refreshing.”
If your looking to stray away from small portion-sized desserts and want to purchase a citrus flavored sheet cake for your next special occasion, or to simply munch on in your sweats while sipping wine, Miss Priss also offers a three layered paradise cake.
The three layered paradise cake is comprised of three different flavors such as guava, passion fruit, and lime. The cake is then coated with a light and airy whipped cream frosting. If you wish to try a smaller portion size, three layered paradise cupcakes are available as well.
For those always on the lookout for a great deal, or free food, Miss Priss occasionally holds last-minute end of the day deals such as buy one, get one free, or buy five cupcakes, get five cupcakes free so be sure to keep your eyes peeled.
The 11-year-old location also holds trivia games on their Facebook account. Here contestants are asked to identify the name of a movie or TV quote. Contestants can then reply to the post with what they assume to be the correct answer. Winners are picked at random, common prizes include a free box of a dozen cupcakes.
Miss Priss Cupcakes & Such located on 4131 Norse Way sells regular cupcakes for $2.75 each, and mini cupcakes for $1.75 each. Brownies are $2, and mini cookies that typically come in sets of four are $1.
“We are known for the quality of our ingredients and the care that we put into everything,” Kearney said. “It's the taste, uniqueness, and inventiveness that we create here daily.”
Feeling lazy and don’t want to walk outside into a heat wave? Postmates and Uber Eats are now being offered. If interested, a purchase of a dozen cupcakes minimum is required. Everything provided in store is typically offered online as long as the dessert item is in stock.
