Returning customers that step-foot upon the Shenandoah at the Arbor’s restaurant in Los Alamitos will quickly realize that the restaurant no longer looks the same.
What was once a restaurant that provided customers with a taste and feel for the South has drastically changed the theme of their venue from shabby chic to farmhouse.
Shenandoah owner, Jill Wilson said, “We have done a lot of changes from the chairs, paint, curtains and tablecloths; returning customers are sure to notice the different environment.”
The shabby chic theme has resided at the restaurant since 2003 when the restaurant was first established. Due to its protracted stay, Wilson knew that it was time to revamp the theme, farmhouse just so happened to be the perfect fit.
“We changed it because it's current,” Wilson said. “We changed our website and menus prior to the transformation and it landed itself to a farmhouse. That's how we knew we were going in that direction.”
Like many visitors, the question of where the theme inspiration originated from is the first thought that pops in peoples heads. It's not every day you see a Southern-themed restaurant located by the beach. Wilson’s answer landed upon where she grew up and her relationship with her husband.
“My husband is from Texas and I’m from Pennsylvania, where I lived on a farm,” Wilson said. “We are American regional with a Southern implication. We wanted a theme that fit both of our backgrounds.”
Every Monday night from 6 to 8 p.m. is Shenandoah’s happy hour located on the patio. Free entertainment is provided such as singers, guitar players and even both. On Tuesday nights the restaurant offers “Tuesdays for Two” which comprises of a three-course meal to suit a delightful dining experience for two. It includes a bottle of wine, soup and salad, two entrees and a dessert to split.
Due to Shenandoah being in high demand this season because of baby and bridal showers, now is the optimal time to catch a dinner reservation before there is no longer any openings. Whether you are going for the soothing entertainment, the scrumptious food or a feel for nature, Shenandoah is sure to suit your needs.
