Gaslamp “Unplugged” – ‘90s Tributes

Gaslamp Long Beach presents...Gaslamp “UNPLUGGED” with acoustic tributes to ‘90s bands like Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Smashing Pumpkins, and Stone Temple Pilots. Performances by: Vitalogy, Nirvanish, Memory Layne, The Great Pumpkin, and Stone Temple Piracy.

The Exceptional Day of Play

The Exceptional Day of Play is a day of accessible and welcoming fun and play for kids with special needs.

Founded by Long Beach locals Alexa King and Peyton Beeli, the Exceptional Day of Play is a special community event with universally-designed activities and a welcoming environment for the whole community. The event includes sensory bins, arts and crafts, and games designed for kids of all abilities.

Long Beach Heritage’s Monthly Walking Tour of Historic Willmore City

Saturday, Sept. 22 | 9:30 a.m.

Bembridge House, 953 Park Cir, Long Beach, CA 90813

Take a tour of the historic Willmore City, home to the impressive Victorian Queen Anne Bembridge House. Willmore City was the first residential development in Long Beach! This tour is designed as an educational introduction to a cross-section of early 20th century Long Beach residential architecture.

The tour will include interior visits of the Bembridge House and, in contrast, a fully-restored Queen Anne "workman's" cottage. A few miscellaneous items to see will be a mysterious gold-domed temple and an original Catalina tile soda fountain.

Distance covered: About 1-1/2 miles total walking

Fistful of Improv

A Fistful Of Improv is a comedy troupe born and bred on the streets of Long Beach. They were founded in January of 2011 and have been performing at many stages across Los Angeles and Orange Counties since April of that same year.

They are continuously looking for new ways to push the limits of improv comedy and strive to reach new frontiers with each performance. The next performance is in late October, so don’t miss this one! Tickets are $7 at http://www.lbplayhouse.org.
